Jhumpa Lahiri is a good American writer of Indian origin. I made his acquaintance a few years ago, he wrote a weekly column in the magazine Internazionale. It was the period when she had moved to Italy and to learn the Italian language she started writing it. He strolled the streets and remained closed in the library for hours.
His column was beautiful. It related our country, the Italians people and Rome. His writing improved every week. It seemed to read a girl who enthusiastically told a new world. In 2015 she wrote for Guanda “In other words”, the story of a long courtship, of a deep passion: that of a writer for a foreign language.
Since this year I gave myself a task, that is to learn English well, but really well, I decided to use the only tool I know how to touch: writing. I will write in English. I don’t know how much, but I hope so much.
Maybe it will be a good reason to go back to writing more on the blog.
